Crossing Braids and Spikes For Friday The 13th!

Today's hairstyle really has nothing to do with Friday the 13th. I just realized that was the date today. Plus, I timed it and it took me 13 minutes to complete, hmmm weird!
Start with a part all the way down the middle (like pigtails.) Then, another part from ear to ear. Make some pigtails with the 2 bottom sections. French braid the 2 front sections diagonally, ending both french braids near the middle part. Continue with a regular braid the rest of the way, over to the pigtail on the opposite side.

Oh, in case you're wondering, that's our pet cat in the corner there. He's my favorite kind and doesn't shed or poop, although he does eat. See his food on the other side?

Braid the hair in the pigtails leaving some ends on the bottom. Wrap the braids up into buns and secure with elastics (leaving the ends out on top.) Spray the ends with hair spray or gel and spike them. Add some cute bows :)

We both love this one. Try it today and see if it takes you 13 minutes as well!

Whould you like to comment?

  2. Love all your hairstyles. I like to experiment with my daughter's hair too, however she has Super thick, curly hair and about 3 heads worth of it! Have you come across any blogs/sites that show styles for curly hair?

  3. That is incredibly cute. I wish when I see these that Sammy's hair was longer and wonder why we cut it so short.

  4. I love it! But I'm sure it would take me much longer than 13 minutes.

  5. That is ADORABLE!!! I love how nice and neat it looks!! I really like the spikes!! And the ribbons are so cute! Ok, I love it all!! Lol!!
Now if I could just figure out how to french braid my daughter's hair! Sigh! Here's the dumb part, when I was in the military, I used to French braid my own hair every single day. But for some reason, I can't do anyone elses! She always ends up with lumps and bumps and the bottom is never close to the head (if that makes sense!!) Maybe I should have her stand behind me when I try it!!! Lol!!!

  19. Love it! If only I could get the Princess Nagger to sit still long enough to fancy up her hair...I'm lucky if simple pigtails aren't uneven with her fidgeting! :)

  21. Mike and Andrea, (Probably more Andrea than Mike, right? haha)

I use "goody ouchless" elastics and get them at Walmart in the regular hair section (not the childrens section.) They usually have clear as well as colored.
